Built for people who make things.
Cura comes from the Latin cura — to care. That word is the whole brief. We built a marketplace where the work comes first, the artists are treated fairly, and buyers can trust every single thing they find.
The handmade internet got buried.
The biggest handmade marketplaces started with a real idea — a place to buy things made by people, not factories. That idea worked. And then, because it worked, the growth machine took over.
Listing fees. Ad auctions. Algorithm changes that reward volume over quality. Drop-shipped goods hiding behind the word “handmade.” Real artists — people who spend weeks on a single piece — buried under ten thousand listings for the same mass-produced item with a slightly different title tag.
We started Cura because we kept seeing the same thing: incredible artists, invisible. Buyers wanting to find them, unable to. The connection that should be simple — between someone who makes something beautiful and someone who wants to own it — broken by a marketplace that stopped caring.
Cura is our attempt to fix that. One carefully reviewed artist at a time.
A few things we believe deeply.
Artists earn what they deserve
We take 8% on every sale. No listing fees, ever. No pay-to-play advertising. No algorithms that reward the biggest ad budgets. Artists set their prices. We get paid when they do.
Every application is a real review
We look at your portfolio, your bio, and the story behind your work before approving anything. The curation gate is not a filter — it's a judgment call made by people who care about craft.
Community trust is the product
Buyers vote on what they love, and their vote weight grows as they buy. The people most invested in the marketplace — paying customers — have the most say in what rises to the top.
Quality over scale
We are not trying to be the biggest marketplace. We are trying to be the most trustworthy one. We would rather have 500 exceptional artists than 50,000 mediocre ones.
