Selling on Cura.

How do I apply?

Fill out the application at /apply. You'll share your portfolio links, a short bio, and the disciplines you work in. Our curatorial team reviews every application — most decisions come back within minutes, and anything that needs a closer look gets back to you within 2–3 business days.

What kind of work does Cura accept?

We accept original handmade work across painting, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, woodworking, textiles, sculpture, printmaking, metalwork, glasswork, leatherwork, photography, paper arts, mixed media, and more. The only rule: you made it yourself.

What does Cura cost?

We take 8% on every sale. No listing fees, ever. Premium membership — which unlocks the Profile Studio, analytics, and featured placement — is $15/month. The first 250 approved artists get their first year of premium free.

What's the Profile Studio?

The Profile Studio is a writing tool built specifically for artists. It helps you craft a story-driven bio, write product descriptions that actually sell, and calculate pricing that reflects your time and skill. It's available to all approved artists — premium members get unlimited access.

How do I get paid?

You'll connect your bank account through Stripe during onboarding. Cura pays out weekly, automatically — every Monday. You'll also receive a weekly email summarizing your earnings.

How does product review work?

Every new listing goes through a quality review before going live. This usually takes a few seconds to a few minutes. We're checking that the product matches what Cura is about — original, handmade work with honest photography and descriptions.

Can I sell prints or reproductions of my work?

Right now, Cura is physical goods only — no digital downloads. Prints and reproductions are allowed as long as they're produced and fulfilled by you, and are clearly described as such.

What if my application is rejected?

You'll receive specific feedback explaining what we looked for and what was missing. Most rejections are about portfolio presentation, not the quality of the work itself. You're welcome to re-apply after addressing the feedback.

Do I handle my own shipping?

Yes — Cura is not involved in fulfillment. You pack and ship your own orders directly to buyers. We recommend building shipping costs into your pricing or noting your lead time and rates in your product descriptions.

Is everything on Cura really handmade?

Yes. Every artist on Cura goes through a manual review before they can list anything. We check their portfolio, their bio, and the consistency of their work before approving them. Listings are also reviewed before going live. If something slips through that shouldn't be here, we want to know — use the report button on any listing.

How does voting work?

Every logged-in user can upvote or downvote work. Your vote weight starts at 1 and grows as you buy — buyers who have made a purchase carry more weight, because their opinion of quality is backed by real experience. You don't need to buy anything to vote.

Do I need an account to browse?

No — you can browse everything without an account. You'll need to sign in to vote or make a purchase.

How do I contact an artist before buying?

Each artist profile includes their social links and website if they've shared them. For questions about a specific piece — sizing, materials, custom work — we recommend reaching out to the artist directly before placing an order.

What's your return policy?

Returns and exchanges are handled directly between buyers and artists — Cura does not process returns. Each artist sets their own policy, so check the product listing or reach out to the artist before purchasing if you have questions.

My order has an issue — what do I do?

Start by contacting the artist directly. If you're unable to resolve it, reach out to us at hello@cura.art and we'll help mediate. We take buyer protection seriously.

Is it safe to pay on Cura?

Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world. Cura never stores your card details. Artist payouts go through Stripe Connect, which means your payment is held securely until the transaction is complete.

Can I commission custom work?

Some artists are open to commissions — check their profile or contact them directly. Custom orders are handled between you and the artist; Cura's standard checkout is for listed items only.
